efoilworld Einhausen Germany (owner: John Lammers) and efoilmasters (a business division of McGrip Sharing & Consulting GmbH): Background and clarification regarding social media activities

Since May 26, 2026, various friends, customers, partners and purely private contacts have approached us regarding activities by efoilworld from Einhausen. Some were surprised as to why the efoilworld Instagram account suddenly sent them a follow request even though they have absolutely no connection to eFoils, watersports or Germany.

As this has apparently also caused some confusion about whether efoilworld Einhausen and efoilmasters are connected or possibly even the same company, we would like to explain the situation transparently.

efoilmasters and the team of technicians and athletes behind it stand for transparency and open communication — both regarding the quality of different eFoil systems and the potential risks involved in eFoiling.

Are efoilworld Einhausen, a SiFly / Jetwave dealer, and efoilmasters connected?

No.

As we were among the early SiFly dealers in Germany around four years ago, there was a loose connection and cooperation for a period of time.

This cooperation was terminated by efoilworld on September 11, 2025. In connection with this development, our own activities within the eFoil market were increasingly perceived or discussed as competition.

As a result, further changes followed for us. Among other things, SiFly prohibited us from using certain SiFly-owned product images, and we were not listed as a dealer.

We do not want to further evaluate these past events here, but simply clarify the current situation:

efoilworld and efoilmasters are independent businesses and brands. There is currently no cooperation or partnership between efoilworld and efoilmasters.

This clarification is important to us because, according to the feedback we have received, the accounts followed by efoilworld also include customers and people from our personal network.

These include contacts from Monaco, St. Tropez, Italy and China, as well as friends and other private contacts who sometimes have absolutely no connection to eFoiling and simply follow the activities of our Pro Rider Sebastian.

Several people have approached us about this and, in some cases, sent us screenshots of the corresponding Instagram activities.

Why does efoilworld follow people and new followers of efoilmasters?

We cannot answer this question conclusively because we do not know efoilworld’s internal social media or marketing strategy.

efoilworld has denied to us in writing that people are deliberately approached or followed because of their connection to efoilmasters. Instead, reference was made to the Instagram algorithm.

However, our documented observations show that over a longer period of time there have been numerous overlaps between accounts followed by efoilworld and our customer, follower and private contact network.

Before our Instagram account was blocked by efoilworld on August 27, 2026, we were able to identify approximately 130 such overlaps.

After we first raised the issue on May 26, 2026 and passed on complaints from people within our network, efoilworld removed some specifically named accounts from the relevant follow connections at our request. We also observed that some previously existing overlaps no longer existed afterwards.

These changes are documented.

A few months later, however, we again received similar feedback.

Up until August 27, 2026, we were able to document that private contacts and new followers of efoilmasters were once again receiving follow requests from efoilworld or were being followed by the account.

Among them were again people with no connection whatsoever to eFoiling or watersports.

As a result, we once again received questions and complaints.

After we contacted efoilworld again regarding this issue, deliberate activity of this kind was again denied. Our Instagram account was subsequently blocked by efoilworld.

According to the situation that we were able to verify at that time, corresponding follow connections with people who had no recognizable connection to eFoiling or watersports still remained.

Noticeable overlaps on Instagram

Independently of this, it remained publicly visible that the efoilworld Instagram account was following significantly more accounts than were following the account itself at that time.

We expressly do not consider this number alone to be proof of any particular marketing strategy. However, in combination with the documented feedback and overlaps, it gave us reason to look more closely at the development.

When we received the first complaints, efoilworld had 673 followers and was itself following 1,109 accounts, according to a screenshot sent to us.

We received this screenshot from a person who was surprised by the follow request from efoilworld.

When we subsequently reviewed the situation, we found that more than 100 contacts from our network were among the accounts being followed.

Some of these people told us, when asked, that they had initially assumed that efoilworld might be a second account of efoilmasters or somehow connected to efoilmasters.

According to them, one reason for this assumption was that the follow request from efoilworld sometimes arrived shortly after they had followed efoilmasters.

Is this a marketing strategy?

One possible purpose of this type of social media activity can be to generate attention through follow requests and receive follow-backs.

Such an approach can also generally be used to draw the attention of users from other brands‘ communities to one’s own products or offers.

Whether this is actually the specific motivation of efoilworld is something we cannot and do not want to claim.

We do not know efoilworld’s internal strategy. efoilworld has denied to us that it deliberately uses this type of approach and has referred to the Instagram algorithm.

We therefore can and want to present only the documented events, the feedback from our network and our own observations.

Our main concern is to explain why people who have absolutely nothing to do with eFoiling may nevertheless receive a follow request from efoilworld.

We would also like to apologize to our private contacts for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused.

We do not share customer data or private contacts with efoilworld

This point is particularly important to us:

efoilmasters has at no time shared customer data or lists of private contacts with efoilworld.

Anyone who follows efoilmasters and is subsequently contacted, followed or sent a follow request by efoilworld should therefore not assume that there is any business relationship between the two companies.

After people approached us regarding the situation, we raised the issue directly with efoilworld on several occasions.

In our view, private profiles should not be deliberately approached simply because they follow another eFoil business.

efoilmasters, SiFly and the development of the German eFoil market

efoilmasters has been intensively involved with different eFoil systems and manufacturers for years.

We were among the early SiFly dealers in Germany, supported efforts to increase awareness of the brand and established contacts with additional partners who are now operating as SiFly dealers in Germany.

This cooperation was part of our development and, at the same time, gave us the opportunity to gain extensive experience with different eFoil concepts.

Since then, we have tested and ridden numerous systems from different manufacturers.

Today, this cross-brand experience is an essential part of our consulting.

We know many boards not only from specification sheets, videos or manufacturer information.

We have ridden them ourselves.

Why efoilmasters today focuses on LIFT and Hobbywing

Based on our experience with different manufacturers, we have deliberately focused our current product range.

We have ridden eFoils from numerous manufacturers and many different boards, giving us a very good overview of their respective advantages and disadvantages.

LIFT Foils

For us, LIFT is one of the leading eFoil systems, particularly in the high-end, performance and racing segments.

Our experience is not based solely on normal test rides.

We also use LIFT systems in performance and racing environments and therefore gain experience with them under demanding conditions.

Based on our personal and sporting experience, LIFT Foils particularly impress us in terms of performance, surf feeling and racing.

LIFT riders are also regularly represented on the podium at current eFoil races.

Hobbywing eFoils

In our view, Hobbywing currently offers a particularly attractive combination of quality, performance and price.

This enables us, in addition to the high-end segment, to serve customers who are looking for a high-quality recreational eFoil without necessarily entering the highest price category.

Advice also on eFoils that we do not sell

A key part of our consulting is our practical experience with different brands.

Just because we have decided to sell certain products does not automatically mean that they are the best choice for every rider.

Body weight, experience, riding style, type of water and intended use all make a significant difference.

A beginner primarily interested in relaxed cruising needs a different setup from someone who wants to ride waves, carve aggressively or race.

For this reason, we can also provide assessments of many eFoils and brands that we do not currently sell ourselves.

Why we are publishing this clarification regarding efoilworld Einhausen

We would have preferred to resolve this issue privately.

However, after people from our customer base and private network approached us again, and because in our view no sufficiently satisfactory clarification has yet been achieved, we now believe transparency is the better solution.

This article is therefore intended to clarify four points:

1. efoilworld and efoilmasters are independent of each other.
2. efoilmasters does not share customer contacts, private contacts or contact lists with efoilworld.
3. If people are followed by efoilworld or receive a follow request after following efoilmasters or other eFoil accounts, this does not mean that there is any business relationship between efoilworld and efoilmasters. In our view, the documented overlaps may create the impression of a social media marketing strategy and have caused confusion among some of our contacts. We expressly make no statement regarding efoilworld’s actual internal motivation.
4. We welcome fair competition within the eFoil industry and generally aim to work constructively with manufacturers, dealers, riders and event organizers. This is also why the efoilmasters team, both as a dealer and within racing, maintains friendly relationships with many eFoil enthusiasts and Pro Riders.
